Chinese ferrochrome production has ceased in two regions viz., Bayannur and Ordos. The electricity consumption for the quarter is utilized and hence the Ferrochrome plants received notice to shut down from today until further notice. The shutdown will affect the monthly production capacity of 21,700 t from Bayannur and 12,200 t from the Ordos region, with a total of 10 submerged arc furnaces in the regions combined.
