Chinese high carbon ferro chrome imports slid by 25% m-o-m to 235,000 t in Aug’22 compared to 311,713 t in Jul’22, as per customs data compiled and maintained by SteelMint. The sharp fall in volumes was due to weak demand amid production cuts by Chinese stainless steel mills. Cumulative imports rose by 59% y-o-y to 1.5 mnt in Jan-Aug’22.
