China’s ferro chrome imports declined by 17.9% m-o-m in May’21, according to customs data. Chinese ferro chrome production from Inner Mongolia is still low but production from the southern provinces has increased significantly. This has resulted in a fall in imports amidst falling Chinese stainless steel and chrome ore prices. On the other hand, chrome ore imports in May were stable – just 0.5% higher compared to April.
