China: Ferro Alloy Imports Up by 23% M-o-M

According to the Chinese customs, the country witnessed a rise of 23% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

China imported 3.27 MnT in Jan’18 against 3.02 MnT in Dec’17. However, on yearly basis, Chinese imports remained unchanged as it imported 3.72 MnT in Jan’17 as well.

Chinese imports consist of Manganese Ore majorly at 2.28 MnT in Jan’18, witnessing an increase of 39% M-o-M against 1.64 MnT in Dec’17. Chrome Ore and Ferro Chrome imports by China in Jan’18 are 1.24 MnT and 0.20 MnT registering an increase of 3% and 11% respectively.

South Africa remains the largest Ferro Alloy exporter to China at 1.92 MnT in Jan’18 recording an increase of 18% M-o-M against 1.63 MnT in Dec’17 followed by Australia and Gabon.
