Electricity generation in China has increased by 8% y-o-y to 8,112.2 billion kWh in CY’21, data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows. Of the total output, the share of thermal power was 71%, a growth of 8% y-o-y to 5,770 billion kWh. Among the various sources of power generation, only hydropower registered a yearly decline in CY’21.
