China’s met coke market saw two rounds of price reduction within a week, a cumulative decline of RMB 400/t ($62.95/t). Coke demand from the steel mills remains subdued amid production curbs imposed due to the ongoing Winter Olympics. The price of met coke in Hebei’s Shijiazhuang area stands at around RMB 2,720/t ($428/t). Coke prices in China are likely to remain weak in the short term.
