Steel billet prices in China’s key steel-producing hub of Tangshan fell by RMB 30/t ($5/t), inclusive of 13% VAT, on 17 Sep’21. Domestic billet prices stood at RMB 5,210/t ($808/t). According to data maintained with SteelMint, re-bar futures contracts for Jan’22 delivery at the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) closed today at RMB 5,478/t ($849/t), witnessing a fall of RMB 63/t ($10/t), d-o-d.
