China was world's top Pig iron producer in the month of February, with a total contribution of 62% i.e. 37 million metric ton. It was down by 2.9% MoM and increased by 6.8% YoY.
Japan was the second largest producer with 6.4 million metric ton of total output, which is down by 9.5% MoM and 0.5% YoY.
In January and February, world Pig iron production increased by 4.7% to 189 million metric ton in comparison to the first two months in 2012.
Global Pig iron output was down by 5.2% in February as compared to January to a total of 92 million metric ton. Whereas, on YoY basis, it moved up by 3.4%.
