In China, imports of Coking Coal in Nov’17 had remained unchanged at the Oct’17 level, shows an analysis on the latest data released by China Customs.
In the penultimate month of 2017, around 5.3 MnT of Coking Coal was imported in that country, and the volume was identical with that in Oct’17. In a country-wise break-up, the imports from Australia shrunk as the prices of the coal went up significantly in Australia during the month; the decrease in the imports from Australia was however made up through higher imports from Mongolia.

A country-wise break-up shows that the largest share of the imports was accounted for by that from Australia, followed by Mongolia.
