China: Coal production in Oct’21 peaks to six-year high of 375 mn t

China’s coal production rose to 375.1 mn t in Oct’21, the country’s highest monthly output since Mar’15, as per customs data. Production rose by 7% m-o-m. Since July this year, the government has approved expansion of more than 153 coal mines to boost output and control prices. Total output in Jan-Oct’21 stood at 3.3 bn t, an increase of 4% y-o-y.
