Coal imports in China decreased 10.45% in May’17 over the imports in Apr’17, according to an analysis done by CoalMint Research on the recent data released by China Customs.
In May’17, 22.19 MnT of coal was imported in China, and that was lower by 2.59 MnT than that in the previous month.
However, the import volume in May’17 was higher by 16.16%over the imports in the corresponding month of the previous year.
During the Jan-May’17 period, the coal imports in that country were at 112 MnT, an increase of 29.6% from that in the same period of the previous year.
Coal imports in that country were at high levels as the user-industries stocked the material in addition to catering to their regular requirement.
