China: Chrome ore imports rise by 30% m-o-m in Sep’22

China’s chrome ore imports increased by 30% to 1.5 mnt in Sep’22 from 1.156 mnt in Aug. The rise in imports was led by strong domestic demand and low stocks at ports. The major exporting countries were South Africa (1.319 mnt) followed by Zimbabwe, Turkey, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, on a yearly basis, imports increased by 2% compared to the same period last year.
