In a recent update, China’s Zhejiang Energy Group has booked 136,000 t of high-CV thermal coal from Kazakhstan. This news arrives at a time when the country looks to procure coal supplies from unconventional origins amid the severe shortage due to the unofficial ban on Australian coal and insufficient domestic supplies. China has also increased its coal sourcing from Colombia this year.
