China: Billet prices slip $4/t d-o-d as market turns cautious ahead of Golden Week

In Tangshan, China, billet prices slipped RMB 30/t ($4/t) d-o-d to RMB 2,950/t ($414/t), while SHFE Jan’26 rebar fell RMB 25/t ($4/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,072/t ($431/t).
With the Golden Week approaching, the market turned cautious, with trade expected to slow further. This, along with falling raw material costs and speculation regarding tariffs on cheap EU imports, exerted downward pressure on prices.
