Baotou Iron and Steel Co. Ltd, an Inner Mongolia-based major steel producer, has announced that it will put one of its 2200m3 blast furnaces (BF) on care and maintenance in Dec’21. This is likely to lead to average daily output loss of about 5,000 t of hot metal. The company has an installed capacity of about 16.5 mn t/year.
