Factors dominating Chinese steel prices – The nation recorded all-time high steel production in Aug which resulted in an increase in inventory levels in the month of Sep. Also weakening futures and fall in domestic prices resulted in pessimistic sentiments in the market. These reasons can be attributed to a fall in prices.

Last week before the National day holidays (from 1st -8th Oct’20) domestic HRC prices in China were in the range of RMB 3,810-3,830/t (Eastern China). The prices are lower by around RMB 200-210/t m-o-m basis . However the market is expected to resume trades completely from next week.
