Chile’s copper production falls by 7.5% y-o-y in H1CY22

Chilean state-owned mining giant Codelco, the world’s largest copper producer, recorded H1CY22 output at 736,000 t. The volumes were lower by 7.5% compared to the corresponding period last year. This was because the extraction of lower grade ore resulted in longer processing time. During CY21, the company produced 1.7 mnt of copper, which includes output from associated companies.
