Chile: Copper production drops 6% y-o-y in Jun’25

Chile’s copper output dropped 6% y-o-y in Jun’25 to 424,390 t, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The decline follows a sharp increase in May, highlighting ongoing volatility in the world’s top copper-producing country. Operational issues and the mining of lower ore grades are believed to have primarily contributed to the drop, though strong domestic manufacturing growth helped limit the decline, as per reports.
