Chhattisgarh: Domestic rice market remains subdued, export outlook weakens

India’s rice market remained subdued this week amid policy uncertainty and absent paddy arrivals. Trade at Vizag Port was minimal, confined to low-priced spot and forward deals. Most plants were shut, with operations to resume only post-Diwali after easing procurement and storage issues. Andhra’s delayed crop signals weak export rates until mid-December, with the market witnessing sluggish deal closures and strong bargaining.
