Chhattisgarh mini steel plants might get some relief

In
response to the news that came on shutting down of mini steel plants in
Chhattisgarh, the State Govt. reacted in a positive way and Mr. Dayaldas
Baghel, Industrial minister of Chhattisgarh will put the matter in front of the
Chief minister Dr. Raman Singh.

All
175 mini steel plants owners are prepared to meet the CM. After the meeting
held on Saturday and Sunday, plant owners decided to put up the matter that
highlights the present financial problems of mini steel plants in Chhattisgarh.

According
to a plant official, “If the same condition will exist in 2012, it will be
impossible to run any plants as we are going through a severe financial crisis.
It will also stop investments coming from other states and affect the growth of
the steel plants”

“Plants
which are closed, could be saved. We demanded for relief packages earlier to
run those plants but haven't received any so far from the state Govt.”, said
Mr. Ashok Surana, President, Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association.

“It
will be impossible to save the plants if new proposed rates of electricity will
be approved. Mini steel plant industry will lose its existence if Govt will not
intervene”, he added.
