Sponge iron demand continued to remain supportive in the central India despite sharp surge in prices since the last week-end. Over 3,000 t P-DRI deals were reported at INR 15,500-600/t ex-Raipur & around 2,500 t was sold at around INR 15,200/t ex-Raigarh. Sources are assuming sponge prices to remain supported due to sufficient orders at suppliers end & onset of monsoon.
