Central India: Raipur based mill concludes wire rod export deal for Nepal

Raipur based wire-rod mills have resumed export deals, SteelMint learned from sources. A renowned wire rod plant in Raipur has concluded an export deal to Nepal for a rake (2,400 t) for the controlled chemistry grade (carbon 0.08-0.010%). The deal price is reported at $530/t (loaded to rake) (equivalent to $555/t CPT Nepal). Meanwhile, offers from Durgapur, eastern India are reported at $530-535/t exw, for commercial grade wire rod (carbon 0.010-0.014%). Nepal’s wire rod imports from India slightly dropped to 33,200 t in Jan’21, as against 33,900 in Dec’20.
