Few major medium-scale rolling mills in Raipur (central India) have put their their operational activities on hold, due to piling up of inventories amid dull demand. SteelMint learned from sources that limited re-bar demand has resulted few mills to sell semi-finish (ingot/billet) rather than selling finished steel (re-bar). Also, the current capacity utilization is reported at around 50-55%.
