Bhubaneswar: After issuing show cause notices to the Chrome miners for violating green norms, the Jajpur district administration has started lodging cases against them.
In the first phase, the district administration has lodged cases against Mishrilal & Co for violating the Environmental Protection (EP) act in its Sarubali mines in the JMFC Court (Jajpur) on 24 Feb, 2014 . The cases have been filed against the company’s director Shiv kumar Jain and other officials like mines Manager S Pal and its Divisional Manager.
Similar cases have also been filed against Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) for producing Chrome without Environmental Clearance (EC) in its South kaliapani & Sukrung mines. The cases have been filed against the CMD, DGM, Assistant, GM, AGM, Divisional Manager and Assistant Manager of OMC.
Few days back, the district administration had also filed a case against OMC for violating green norms in its Daitari Iron ore mines.
