Canada: Ferrous Scrap Exports Up 32% M-o-M in Apr’17

Canada-one of the major exporters of ferrous scrap has registered sharp increase in export volumes in Apr’17.

As per Canadian Customs, the nation exported 0.37 MnT ferrous scrap in Apr’17 compared to 0.28 MnT in Mar’17. Thus, export volumes have increased by 32% M-o-M. So far in CY17 (till Apr’17) Canada exported 1.18 MnT ferrous scrap.

However on yearly premises,export volumes have moved up by 42% as it was 0.26 MnT in Apr’16.

USA remained the preferred destination for Canada ferrous scrap exports with import of 0.29 MnT in Apr’17.

Turkey – the 2nd largest importer of Canada ferrous scrap imported 0.05 MnT in Apr’17

Taiwan imported 0.01 MnT ferrous scrap from Canada in Apr’17.

Canada exported 3.37 MnT ferrous scrap in CY16. Major importing countries from Canada were – USA, Turkey, India, Taiwan, China and Bangladesh.
