Canada’s coal exports dropped 22% m-o-m to 2.99 mnt in Jan’24 as against 3.81 mnt in Dec’23. The country exported the highest volume to South Korea at 1.43 mnt (up by 24% m-o-m) followed by Japan at 0.82 mnt as against 1.29 mnt in Dec’23. Meanwhile, shipments to China dropped 57% to 0.26 mnt in the month under review. Notably, no exports have been recorded to India in Jan’24.
