- NMDC supplied 272 rakes of iron ore in May’16 from its Bailadila mines
- Chhattisgarh based units increase iron ore purchases by 63% M-o-M
- Dispatches for iron ore exports fall by 28% in May’16
Iron ore supply from National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh remained stable in May’16. In total, NMDC dispatched 272 rakes of iron ore last month.
Chhattisgarh based units have raised iron ore procurement in May’16 by 63% M-o-M from 38 rakes in Apr’16 to 62 rakes in May’16. Increase in procurement was result of price cut by NMDC in May’16. The miner had cut DR-CLO prices by INR 220/MT and fines prices by INR 200/MT in May’16.
However procurement from outside state based units remained stable on monthly premises. JSW Steel, Dolvi bought 32 rakes of iron ore in May’16 against 41 rakes in Apr’16. RINL (Vizag Steel) procured 124 rakes of iron ore in May’16 compared to 113 rakes in Apr’16.
NMDC’s movement for export fell by 28% M-o-M in May’16. NMDC loaded 51 rakes of iron ore in May’16 in contrast to 71 rakes in Apr’16.
