A bulk scrap vessel (MV Jiangmen Traders) from US, carrying a cargo of about 33,000 MT, is expected to reach Chittagong, Bangladesh port in 1st week of November.
Bangladeshi steelmakers have increased their imports for bulk scrap owing to addition in steelmaking capacity.
Current offers for Shredded (ISRI 211) scrap to Bangladesh are assessed at USD 200-205/MT from Australia, USD 205/MT from US and USD 215/MT from Europe.
Bangladesh imported about 600,000 MT scrap in FY15 and is expected to increase its imports to 2.5 MnT in coming years.
