Brazilian Pig iron Export Down by 50% in Oct’16

Brazil, the world’s second-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 0.10 MnT Pig iron in Oct’16 according to trade statistics released by Brazilian customs.

Brazilian Pig iron exports have registered a downfall of 50% M-o-M in Oct’16 against 0.20 MnT in Sept’16. On similar lines, exports fall by 38% Y-o-Y against 0.16 MnT in Oct’15.

In the first 10 months of 2016, the country exported 1.79 MnT Pig iron, down by 21% as compared to 2.27 MnT in the same time period prior this year.

Country’s Pig iron exports majorly directed to Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand etc. In Oct’16, the country exports Pig iron only to Vietnam, Netherlands and Mexico. Pig iron exports to Vietnam was recorded at 0.02 MnT, Netherlands 0.03 MnT and Mexico 0.05 MnT.
