Brazil: Steel mills likely to hike prices of flats, longs by up to 20% in April

Brazilian steelmakers are lining up a hike of up to 20% in steel prices on the back of surging raw material and semi-finished steel rates.

• Companhia Siderurgica Nacional has decided to raise electric steel prices by 12.5% for early-Apr’22 and 7.5% by mid-April.
• Gerdau has planned to raise flat and long steel prices by 10-12% in early April.
• Usiminas will hike prices of flats by 10-12% in early April and by 20% towards mid-April.
