According to the Brazilian customs, the country has witnessed a substantial fall of 28% M-o-M in its Manganese Ore exports.
Brazilian Manganese Ore export in Apr’18 was at 0.13 MnT against 0.18 MnT in Mar’18. However, on yearly basis, Brazilian Manganese Ore exports reflected a massive increase of 117% as it was 0.06 MnT in Apr’17.
China’s Appetite for Brazilian Manganese Ore
China remains the largest exporter of Brazilian Manganese Ore in Apr’18 at 0.10 MnT witnessing a fall of 17% M-o-M against 0.12 MnT in Mar’18. Uruguay on the other hand witness a substantial fall of 25% M-o-M, importing only 0.03 MnT in Apr’18 against 0.04 MnT in Mar’18 followed by Mexico and India.
A decrease in Manganese Ore imports by China can be attributed to the slow manganese alloy market in the region which led to piling up of ores on Chinese ports.
