Brazil: manganese Ore Exports experience high rise in Dec’18

Manganese Ore exports from Brazil made a remarkable hike from 174,832 MT in Nov’18 to 348,038 MT in Dec’18 which accounts to 99.07% increase. However, in CY 2018 the exports were highest for the month of August with an export quantity of 405,179 MT.

China being one of the major countries for imports from Brazil with about 70% shares of the total export quantity showed a drastic increase in the month of Dec’18 by 366.59% while the Y-o-Y change was 3.10% upwards. However, Brazilian market for Argentina faced 81.18% downfall in Exports in CY 2018. Exports for Argentina were nil for the month of Dec’18. Mexican Imports of Manganese ore from Brazil were also lowered by 75.94% in the month of Dec’18 as compared to the previous month.

In CY-18, the Exports were increased by 1.93% on Y-o-Y basis. India, Mexico and Uruguay were the major countries to shift their market to Brazil for the CY 2018. However Argentina, one of the major markets experienced a downfall of imports from Brazil by 81.18% in the CY’18 as compared to CY’17. Overall, Dec’18 was one of the good months for Exports for Brazil with an exceptional hike as compared to previous month.
