Brazil: Iron ore exports edge up by 5% y-o-y in Oct’24

Brazil’s iron ore exports rose by 5% y-o-y to 35.3 mnt in Oct’24 compared to 33.6 mnt in Oct’23, as per customs data.
However, export volumes decreased by 4% m-o-m as against 36.9 mnt in Sep’24.
The average price of iron ore shipped from Brazil stood at $63.6/t FOB in Oct’24, down compared to $82.1/t FOB in the same month last year.
