Brazil, the world’s second-largest Semi finished exporter, has exported about 550,624 MT Billets in April 2018, recent released data by Brazilian customs reported.
In the month of April’18, the exports have decline by 3.48% M-o-M against 570,524 MT in Mar’18, in contrary surge by 75.58% Y-o-Y against 313,601 MT in Apr’17.
During April 2018, United States has imported approximately 36% (198,162 MT) billets & continues to remain the largest billet buyer of Brazil. Inline the other largest importer of Brazilian originated billet was Turkey (55,375 MT) & Mexico (48,599 MT).
Further it was also come in line that, no major billet exports to Argentina was seen in Apr’18 as against 13,816 MT in Mar’18.
In the total billet exports during CY18 (Jan-Apr), the most favorable export destination of Brazilian billet was – United States (947,721 MT), Turkey (291,492 MT), Germany (212,687 MnT) & Dominican Republic (137,681 MT).
— In the month of April 2018, the crude steel production of Brazil was around 2.95 MnT and in CY18 (Jan-Apr) it was approximately 11.60 MnT. Meanwhile, in CY17 the figure of crude steel production stood at 34.40 MnT, & 30.21 MnT in CY16, according to the World Steel Association.
— Brazil Iron ore & pellet export decline by 14% M-o-M in Apr’18 & stood at 25.88 MnT as against 29.95 MnT in Mar’18
— As per our last assessment, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet were at USD 525-530/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 510-520/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 530-540/MT FoB China.
