BigMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index for Raipur remained stable at INR 11,000/t DAP Raipur. Pellet offers in Raipur also remained largely unchanged, with local sellers quoting around INR 10,800-10,900/t ($113-114/t) ex-works. Around 25,000 t of pellet deals were reported to BigMint during the assessment period.
Sponge iron prices witnessed a correction of around INR 50-400/t across regions today, amid weak enquiry and limited buying participation, largely due to the Janmashtami festival. BigMint recorded around 5,000 t of sponge iron trades.
BigMint’s billet index declined by INR 250/t d-o-d to INR 41,900/t exw-Raipur. The PDRI-to-billet spread for standalone induction furnaces in Raipur was assessed at INR 12,900/t, marking a further correction from previous levels.
