Sponge iron prices in India experienced a slight decrease, ranging from INR 50 – 400/t d-o-d in the major regions. About 16,550 t of sponge iron deals were recorded in the country on 23 January compared to 2,305 t on 20 January.
On 23 January 2024, BigMint’s billet index in India experienced a dip of INR 200/t, settling at INR 39,550/t exw-Raipur. Trade volume recorded 1,800 t on 23 January compared to 1,400 t on 20 January.
