BigMint’s India billet index experienced a dip of INR 250/tonne (t), settling at INR 39,100/t exw-Raipur.In the finished steel segment, rebar prices down by INR 200/t , while wire rod prices dropped by INR 300/t. Sponge iron prices also saw a decrease of INR 300/t.
BigMint’s domestic end-cutting scrap index, tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market, dropped by INR 200/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 36,200/t DAP on 17 February 2025.
Sponge iron prices witnessed a steady decline today, dropping by INR 50-400/tonne (t). PDRI prices were assessed at around INR 23,700-26,350/t at close of trading, while CDRI prices were at INR 25,800-30,400/t.Approximately 7,300 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country compared to 9,000 t.
