Domestic sponge iron prices witnessed a mixed trend across regions , with declines of INR 100-300/t in some markets, while a few regions recorded marginal gains of INR 100-200/t. The recorded trade volume stood at around 4,200 t.
BigMint’s billet index in Raipur edged lower by INR 100/t day-on-day to INR 42,100/t exw. The conversion spread from pellet-based sponge iron (PDRI) to billets for standalone induction furnaces in the Raipur cluster was recorded at around INR 16,000/t.
BigMint’s domestic end-cutting scrap index, tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market, remained unchanged d-o-d at INR 39,800/tonne (t) DAP.
