BigMint’s daily trade sheet – 14 Jan’26

Domestic Fe 62% iron ore concentrate prices in Jabalpur remained steady at INR 5,000/t ($56/t) ex-works. A sustained shortage of high-grade material continued to provide strong underlying support to prices, even as overall buying activity remained measured.

Sponge iron prices across major Indian markets moved higher by INR 300-900/t. Trade activity improved, with total sponge iron transactions estimated at around 18,500 t.

BigMints billet index registered a sharp increase of INR 1,150/tonne (t) day-on-day (d-o-d), settling at INR 40,450/t ex-works (exw)-Raipur. The PDRI-to-billet conversion spread for standalone induction furnaces in Raipur was assessed at INR 16,150/t.
