BHP Billiton Achieves 2% Higher Coking Coal Production in July-Mar Period

The global mining major, BHP Billiton, has achieved a record production of 31 MnT of Coking Coal during the July’16-Mar’17 period.

The production was 2% higher than the output in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.

The company has cut down its production target for the current fiscal to 39-41 MnT from 44 MnT due to the loss in sales during the Apr’17 period on account of the supply disruption caused by the Debbie cyclone in the Queensland region.

The record production was achieved due to the substantial production attained at its five mines in the Queensland region.
