Bangladesh: Thermal coal imports drop over 40% m-o-m in Apr’25

Bangladesh’s thermal coal imports stood at 1.08 mnt in Apr’25, registering a sharp 43% drop from 1.87 mnt in March. Imports rose by 20.6% y-o-y, compared to 0.90 mnt in Apr’24. Indonesia accounted for 95% share of Bangladesh’s non-coking coal imports and remained the top supplier by shipping 1.03 mnt in Apr.
