Following decline in Chinese HRC exports, import offers to Bangladesh have also witnessed downward movement.
HRC import prices from Chinese steel mills are assessed is in the range of USD 650-670/MT, CFR Bangladesh. The assessment is lower by around USD 10/MT W-o-W as it stood at USD 665-670/MT, CFR a week ago.
No major deals were heard to have concluded. However importers want to book material for May shipment but are in wait & watch mode before finalizing the deal.
Importers are looking for further decline in offers before booking material.Offers for HR plate for May shipment are heard around USD 670/MT, CFR for Chinese mills like Rizhao.
Bangladesh bulk steel coil imports were recorded at 424,863 MT during Jul’17-Jan’18 – According to vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, bulk steel coil imports to Bangladesh stood at 424,863 MT so far in FY18 (till Jan’18). In FY17, Bangladesh imported around 1 MnT steel coil via bulk imports, up by 6% Y-o-Y.
