Bangladesh: Bulk scrap imports fall on high prices

Bulk ferrous scrap imports to Bangladesh were recorded at 0.11 mn t in Jun’21 against 0.13 mn t in May’21. Imports declined by 15% m-o-m, as per vessel line-up data available with SteelMint. Australia, USA and Japan were the leading exporters in Jun’21. High prices of bulk scrap was the reason why buyers continued to prefer containerised scrap.
