Bangladesh bulk ferrous scrap imports plunge 86% in Aug ’20

Bangladesh bulk ferrous scrap imports witnessed a drastic fall of 86% m-o-m and stood at 25,525 t in Aug ’20, as per SteelMint statistics. Imports from the US remained nil, whereas from Japan fell 61% m-o-m. Bangladesh based steel mills remained less active in booking bulk scrap cargoes during June & July amid sufficient inventories and dull finished steel demand.
