Bangladesh’s bulk ferrous scrap imports stood at 210,010 t in May’24, down by 6% in comparison with 223,991 t in Apr’24. Similarly, on y-o-y, imports registered a fall of 18% as against 255,196 t seen in May’23. The US remained the leading exporter of scrap at 92,524 t, followed by New Zealand at 52,290 t and Australia at 26,887 t. In Jan-Apr’24, scrap imports aggregated to 1,130,071 t.
