Baltic index edges higher on Capesize, Panamax gains

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index increased 20 points to 2,295 on 24 Nov’25 against 21 Nov. Capesize rates strengthened on firm iron ore demand and tighter vessel supply amid Chinese winter restocking. Panamax gained slightly on steady grain and coal demand, and Supramax remained stable with balanced activity.

  • Capesize: The BCI rose 47 points to 3,700.
  • Panamax: The BPI increased 16 points to 1,944.
  • Supramax: The BSI remained stable at 1,432.
