Baltic index climbs up d-o-d as all vessel segments gain

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index increased by 49 points d-o-d to 2,046 on 16 Oct’25. The index rose as tighter vessel supply, firmer dry bulk demand, and higher port fees boosted freights across segments.

  • Capesize: The BCI increased by 142 points to 3,058.
  • Panamax: The BPI rose by 5 points to 1,826.
  • Supramax: The BSI was up by 4 points to 1,422.
