Baltic Dry Index rises d-o-d on strong Capesize momentum

The Baltic Dry Index rose 2.8% d-o-d (56 points) to 2,028 on 13 Mar’26, primarily supported by strong gains in the Capesize segment amid improved iron ore cargo activity and firmer Atlantic sentiment.

• Capesize: BCI gained by 5.8% (159 points) to 2,880.
• Panamax: BPI was up 0.2% (3 points) to 1,838.
• Supramax: BSI declined 0.5% (7 points) to 1,283.
