The Baltic Dry Index dropped d-o-d by 4.5% (96 points) to 2,028 points on 3 Feb’26, as a sharp correction in the Capesize segment outweighed mixed performance across other vessel classes, amid softer iron ore and coal fixing activity. Capesize rates weakened notably, while Panamax earnings edged lower.
- Capesize: BCI declined by 7.5% (259 points) to 3,175.
- Panamax: BPI down by 1.37% (24 points) to 1,724.
- Supramax: BSI gained by 1.03% (11 points) to 1,083.
