The Baltic Dry Index increased by 5.4% (146 points) to 2,832 on 5 May’26 against 30 Apr, driven primarily by stronger Capesize earnings amid improved iron ore cargo activity and firmer Atlantic sentiment, despite continued weakness in the Supramax segment.
- Capesize: BCI surged 8.7% (376 points) to 4,703.
- Panamax: BPI gained 3.1% (62 points) to 2,054.
- Supramax: BSI down 1.1% (17 points) to 1,508.
